ARLINGTON -- A 12-year-old girl thwarted a would-be kidnapper Thursday by biting his hand.
Arlington police were looking for the man Friday, and issued a composite sketch of his face.
The incident happened at about 6 p.m. Thursday outside the girl's apartment in the 2000 block of Willow Point Drive in East Arlington, police said.
She told her parents that a man grabbed her, wrapped his arm around her neck and covered her mouth with his hand, said Tiara Ellis Richard, police spokeswoman.
"The suspect was able to drag the girl several feet before she managed to bite his hand and scream for help," Richard said. "The suspect released the girl and ran away from the location."
The man is described as Hispanic, in his 20s, clean-shaven and slightly curly hair with some sort of gel product, Richard said. He wore a short-sleeve, Dickies-style shirt with a name patch and dark blue pants, she said.
Anyone with information about this case or similar ones can call Detective Ben Lopez at 817-459-5373.
"However, if the suspect is in your immediate presence please do not hesitate to call 911," Richard said.
