Restaurant Week is a good time to try someplace new.
But it's also a time to revisit old friends.
Reata's menu for the annual $35 charity dinners next week reflects favorites old and new: a choice of a Stilton-crusted tenderloin in wine sauce, or the restaurant's first-rate "Texas redfish" (red drum) with Parker County peach salsa.
Reata's seafood has stood out recently, along with old favorites such as the chicken-fried steak -- now free-range and organic -- and the rellenos and tenderloin tamales.
Never miss a local story.
The Restaurant Week menu also includes a salad with a poblano-buttermilk dressing and a choice of cheesecake or molten chocolate cake. Wine pairings cost an extra $20.
(Of each $35, $7 goes to the Lena Pope Home family agency.)
Reata is open daily for lunch, dinner and a Sunday-menu brunch at 310 Houston St., 817-336-1009; reata.net.
