A couple flagged down in south Fort Worth Wednesday night by a man who appeared to be having car trouble were instead robbed by the man and an accomplice armed with a gun, police say.
Shortly after the robbery, police arrested two suspects after officers spotted the car believed used in the robbery.
According to a police report, the incident occurred about 9:23 p.m. in the 4400 block of the South Interstate 35W service road.
A 26-year-old man told police that he and his wife were flagged down by a man standing beside his car. The victim stopped to see if the suspect needed help with his vehicle, police said.
But upon stopping, another man got out of the car holding a shotgun and both men demanded money. They fled with about $100 of the couple's money.
The suspects were identified in the police report as Eric Dewayne Jones, 24, and 33-year-old Quantis Orayma Smith, both of Fort Worth. Each faces a charge of aggravated robbery.
