FORT WORTH -- Police wrote more than 1,100 tickets to people who were not wearing seat belts during the Click It Or Ticket campaign, city officials said.
A grant from Texas Department of Transportation helped the enforcement effort, which ran from May 21 to Sunday.
Three fatal collisions were reported during that time, and two were directly related to not wearing seat belts, police said.
A driver was ejected from a vehicle on Interstate 35W near Meacham Boulevard, and a passenger was ejected in the 3500 block of West Long Avenue, police said.

Ejection causes most life-threatening injuries in collisions, and wearing a seat belt can prevent ejection, police said.
