On Wednesday, David Chicken will take the stage with his real-life mom, "rapper" Mama Chicken, in an interactive music show that kicks off Levitt Pavilion's free summer Children's Concerts series. David Chicken's performances, CDs and Emmy-winning DVDs of catchy kids' music promote health and fitness fun, recycling, exercising, reading, and practicing good hygiene. Seating is open -- bring lawn chairs or blankets. Picnics, snacks and coolers with beverages are allowed, but no glass containers. Concessions will be available, include burgers, veggie burgers, chicken and quesadillas from J. Gilligan's, plus snacks, kettle corn, ice cream and snow cones.
The children's series continues Wednesdays through June 27, with Sara Hickman on June 6, the Boogers on June 13, Bandan Koro's West African dance and song June 20, and Big Don's kids' hip-hop show June 27.
