Police are investigating the death of a toddler, who authorities say died from blunt force trauma to his head.
No one has been arrested in the death of Taizon Arin, 2, who was pronounced dead Sunday night at Cook Children's Medical Center.
An investigator with the police department's crimes-against-children unit was investigating, said Sgt. Pedro Criado on Thursday.
Police did not release any other details, and Criado said no other information was expected to be released on Thursday.
According to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website, Taizon was at his home in the 5300 block of Sunfish Drive in southwest Fort Worth on Sunday when he was injured.
Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales said Thursday that a preliminary investigation indicated that the toddler was at the apartment with his 5-year-old sister, his mother’s boyfriend and the boyfriend's three children.
After Taizon's death, his sister was placed with relatives and the boyfriend's children were placed with their mother, Gonzales said.
CPS had no previous history with Taizon's family, Gonzales said.
