A 15-year-old was assaulted by another student Wednesday afternoon at Grapevine High School, according to school officials, and was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas by helicopter ambulance.
Grapevine police took a 16-year-student into custody.
"It happened in the hallway during a passing period between classes," district spokeswoman Megan Overman said. "He was alert when he was transported, but I have no condition report. It's a situation we're watching closely, and we're in contact with the family."
The students, both minors, were not identified.

"It's still under investigation right now," said Sgt. Robert Eberling, a Grapevine police spokesman, who said the altercation was just between the two students and involved no weapons.
"The 15-year-old was walking through the hall and got body-slammed," said Eberling, adding that the teenager was undergoing tests Wednesday night.
The 16-year-old was being held in a juvenile detention center and faces a possible aggravated-assault charge, Eberling said.
