In a state that's obsessed with football, it wasn't hard to find fans ready to bleed the colors of their favorite team.
Our readers gave it the old college try and shared their fan-tastic photos in our Show Us Your Spirit contest. For their efforts, the winners each received four tickets to an upcoming TCU football game and Mom2MomDFW.com swag.
Two, four, six, eight ... here's who we appreciate:
Readers' Choice winner
Never miss a local story.
Kaedynce Looney, 3,
University of Texas at Austin
Class of 2030
No. 1 fan: Family friend Melissa Chambers submitted Kaedynce's photo for the contest because she knew of the family's obsession with the Longhorns.
College connection: Kaedynce's mom, Teresa Looney, says her husband, Chris, loves following UT football and has dedicated their game room to the Longhorns with custom-made bar shelves, a pool table with the Longhorns logo and burnt orange decor. Kaedynce is confident that she will attend UT "because it's my favorite place."
Sarah Cisneros, 9 months, Fort Worth
Texas A&M University
Class of 2032
No. 1 fan: Sarah's mom, Megan Cisneros, Class of '98, submitted the winning photo of her baby, who "was an Aggie before she was even born." Sarah's aunt Cristin O'Neil says there were plenty of maroon-and-white gifts at the baby shower.
College connection: Sarah's beloved toy of A&M mascot Reveille has been passed down from her sisters Graycie Cisneros, 8, and Kirstin Maldonado, 19, who attends ... the University of Oklahoma? Megan Cisneros says she's fine with Sarah choosing a college other than A&M: "As long as it's not Texas. I'll even pay out-of-state tuition."
Hallie, 4, and Brady Harp, 2, Benbrook
Texas Christian University
Classes of 2029 and 2031
No. 1 fan: Their mom, Monica Harp, submitted a photo of the future Horned Frogs posed in front of TCU.
College connection: Grandma Audrey Crist has worked for the TCU registrar's office for about 30 years and dad Mika Harp got his bachelor's and master's degrees at TCU. The family supports all of the TCU teams and has attended games for women's and men's basketball, football and baseball. Hallie has even attended dance classes at the university. When Hallie was asked if she would attend TCU, her mom deadpanned: "There are other colleges?"
