When you’re a parent with small kids, it’s unfortunate, but you’re just plain limited when it comes to dining out in Fort Worth. Thank goodness for Love Shack So7, our new favorite summertime hangout.
Kid-friendly (with its sidewalk chalk and live music) and parent-approved (have you ever tasted their margaritas?), the Shack serves as a welcome, tasty respite. I mean, there are only so many times you can chase your kids around at the Central Market playground while trying to scarf something down.
The menu is bar food taken up a notch with top-tier ingredients. I’ve always liked the Dirty Love Burger with its fried quail egg, but after trying my son’s chicken fingers -- make that the Organic Chicken Tenders ($8 with a drink and small fries) -- I am hooked.
The white-meat chicken is juicy, the coating crispy, and the ranch dipping sauce i! s coolly refreshing. It’s addictive food, the kind that nearly incited a fight between my husband and me for that last chicken tender.
Never miss a local story.
One long swig of the house margarita and I couldn’t care less if the kids ate the sidewalk chalk, as long as they’re happy, which we all are here.
