Temperatures are heating up in the Metroplex. To prevent the parental flares that are sure to spark with every "I'm bored," I've come up with some sizzling fun for all in the family (with most activities in the comfort of an air-conditioned mall). Here are my 5 faves with some bonus ongoing summer fare at the end:

1. Experience 'Monte Carlo' w/Selena Gomez: After spending some quality R&R time with some-guy-named-Justin, Grand Prairie gal Selena Gomez is returning to Texas on a mall tour to tout her upcoming film 'Monte Carlo,' which opens July 1. Fans can participate in a 45-minute Q&A with the star, then enjoy "royal mini-makeovers" and other activities. She's not scheduled to perform any of her new tunes from her upcoming “When The Sun Goes Down,” but the first single, “Bang Bang Bang," dropped on iTunes Tuesday. You can sample it below:
Good to know: The Grapevine Mills web site has the event starting at 2 p.m., but several fan blogs have her appearance starting around 5:20 p.m. Although you would probably want to get there early.
