The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's Concerts in the Garden series begins Friday (info at www.fwsymphony.org), and that means it's time to call favorite fine dining restaurant Eddie V's for a "Moveable Feast" picnic. Again this year, for $25, Eddie V's will pack a portable feast of appetizer, entree and dessert and have it ready to pick up on your way to a garden concert every performance night through July 4. (They'll be available an extra night -- Thursday -- during Ballet Concerto's Summer Dance Concert run June 23-26 at Trinity Park Pavilion.)
Just place the order (817-336-8000 or EVMuseumplace@eddiev.com) by 2 p.m. for a pickup between 5 and 6:30 that evening. One of our favorite starter options has always been the crisp, delicious Fuji apple and golden beet salad, which is on the menu again.
Two new entree choices are seared salmon with grilled asparagus, lemon butter and Creole vinaigrette; and a vegetarian-friendly dish of wok-seared vegetables with soba noodles and light sherry soy broth. An assortment of fresh cookies also joins the dessert lineup, along with the fresh berries and cream, and a fruit-and-cheese platter. www.eddiev.com
