Don't forget that Mayfest continues through the weekend in Trinity Park. If you're bringing the family, know this: There's a whole section of the fest designed just for kids. The children's area offers dozens of cool activities at no extra charge, including a Dinosaur Dig (with faux dinosaur eggs hiding in a giant sand pile), a karate obstacle course, endless art projects, a science experiment station and a wood-and-sticks workshop, where you can build almost anything you can imagine.
Beyond the kids' area, there's plenty of Mayfest for everybody -- live entertainment, handcrafted goods for sale, a petting zoo, a wakeboarding demo station and an overwhelming amount of gourmet fair food (including Fletcher's Corny Dogs). Check the website for a full list of events and a map of parking locations. By the way, kids 5 and younger get in free.
