Easter is still two weeks away, but this weekend, you have a chance to see some beautiful eggs and learn about a centuries-old art form.
St. Barbara Orthodox Church in south Fort Worth is holding its 28th annual Pysanky Festival, a fundraiser dedicated to the Ukrainian tradition of painting eggshells with elaborate designs. The eggs feature symbols, designs and motifs that celebrate the Resurrection and offer messages of good health and new life.
Members of the church have been preparing the chicken, goose and ostrich eggs all year. The eggs will be for sale, ranging from $10 to $850, but there's more to this festival than shopping. Both days, you can watch craftsmen demonstrate the intricate decorating technique.
