Dallas-based Cypress Equities' West 7th development on the city's near west side has landed Fort Worth's first Sweet Tomatoes salad-style restaurant.
The 4,923-square-foot restaurant will go in at the southwest corner of Currie and West Seventh streets, said West 7th spokeswoman Randa McMinn.
It is scheduled to open in the fall.
John Birkner, real estate director for Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., Sweet Tomatoes' corporate parent, said that the company is expanding in Texas and that the Fort Worth store "offers great synergy with other restaurants and retailers in the development."
Sweet Tomatoes has seven Texas locations, four in the Houston area and one each in Arlington, Addison and Irving. It offers a menu of salads, soups, bakery goods and pasta.
The chain was founded in 1978 in San Diego and operates 120 stores.
West 7th is the 13-acre shopping, entertainment, office and residential development of Cypress Equities and Columbus Realty Partners near West Seventh Street and University Drive.
