A juvenile was hit by a car Friday afternoon as he tried to cross Southlake Boulevard in front of Town Square.
The boy, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital via helicopter with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident happened around 12:45 p.m.
The child was part of a group of juveniles running across the street, not at the crosswalk, in front of Town Square, said Roderick Page, community initiatives officer with the city of Southlake Department of Public Safety. Witnesses reported that there was no way the car could have avoided the child, Page said.

Southlake Boulevard is a six-lane road with a center-turn lane.
Traffic was diverted for a few minutes to allow the helicopter to land.
