Sweet and spicy barbecued brisket

1 (5-pound) trimmed beef brisket
Ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 cups Pace Picante Sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1. Season beef with pepper and garlic powder and place in a 3-quart shallow baking dish. Combine picante sauce, brown sugar and Worcestershire in a small bowl, stirring to mix well. Spread picante sauce mixture over beef. Cover with heavy foil and refrigerate overnight.
2. Bake, covered, at 300 degrees for 41/2 hours or until beef is fork-tender. Slice or shred beef. Serve on sandwich buns.
