The wife of former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jay Novacek was found dead this morning in a Burleson home.
LeAnne Novacek, 45, was pronounced dead in a bedroom of the home on Farm Road 1902 at 9:05 a.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner.
The medical examiner has not ruled on a cause or manner of death. However, a police spokesman said the death appeared to be the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Burleson police had responded to a reported “medical emergency, possible suicide,” at the home, said Sally Ellertson, spokeswoman for the city of Burleson.

Novacek played in the NFL with the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals and Cowboys. Novacek won three Super Bowl titles and earned five Pro Bowls with the Cowboys from 1990-96 before a back injury forced him to retire on July 15, 1997.
