KKXT/91.7 FM, better-known as KXT, announced Wednesday that it has hired Brad Dolbeer as assistant program director. At the very least, this should mean more sunshine for Dolbeer, who has 25 years of radio experience, much of it in the Pacific Northwest.
Dolbeer was most recently at KINK/101.9 FM in Portland, Ore., where he was program director and, before that, music director, according to his LinkedIn page. He had also worked for KLTH/106.7 FM in Portland, and for KMTT/103.7 “The Mountain” in Seattle. KINK and KMTT both program “adult album alternative,” or AAA, formats similar to KXT’s.
Dolbeer, who’ll begin Jan. 19, will assist program director Amy Miller and work with music coordinator and host Gini Mascorro, as well as on-air hosts Mo Barrow, Shelley Kenneavy, Joe Kozera, Allen Roberts and Paul Slavens. He will also do some on-air shifts at a time slot still to be determined.
For more about Dolbeer, check out this Q&A with him from industry website Friday Morning Quarterback, better-known as FMQB. Note: the Q&A is a little long and very radio-geeky.
