Eric King, who joined KXAS/Channel 5 in March 2013, came in from WLKY-TV in Louisville — and he’s going back there.
“I'm returning to ‘My Old Kentucky Home’ to rejoin the morning team at WLKY,” King posted Thursday morning on his Facebook page. “I could not be a happier man.”
According to a WLKY announcement linked by King, he will begin in Louisville in February. He had co-anchored morning and midday newscast in Louisville from 2009 to 2013.
King had played a similar role at NBC 5, on the anchor desk during midday newscasts and often doing in-studio segments on NBC 5 Today that almost made him a de facto third anchor for the morning newscast. Local-media blogger Ed Bark reported in October that King had been reassigned to the reporting pool at the station.
Per his bio, King has also worked in Memphis, Tenn., Jackson, Miss. and Bozeman, Mont.
