That's it! Enough is enough! I've had it with the weather this winter.
Sure, it's funny for awhile:
"How great! It's 79 degrees today! The kids are outside in shorts and it's January!"
"Oh my gosh! Where did this cold come from? I'm washing shorts from the weekend and today, the wind chill is 12 degrees."
"No, son, you cannot wear shorts to school today. It's winter."
"Go back and put a short-sleeved shirt on, you'll roast to death in that sweatshirt."
"Don't forget your hat and mittens."
"You left your coat and hat at school because it was too hot to wear them home, yesterday?"
But now, this roller coaster of a weather season has lost its humor with me. I constantly worry about germs, sickness and dressing the kids correctly for the day. I don't dare even check facebook, as there are a dozen moms, reporting RSV, flu, strep throat and ear infections.
I, myself, am so tired of layering my clothes, I could scream. I must have tripled my laundry duties, simply by needing one outfit for the morning, one for the afternoon and one for the evening. If I don't, then I'm always either sweating or freezing and cursing the fact that I dressed for the wrong time of day.
Don't even get me started on sports. Baseball tryouts are this weekend.....yes, on the 30 degree wind chill and flurries day. Of course, all four of the January weekends were the summer-like conditions, not this one. Soccer practice? Wear your shorts and bring your ear muffs.
I wish that Mother Nature would give us real moms a break. Dole out some consistency, please, before we all pack a bag and move to San Diego.
