Fire destroyed a luxury home near a golf course in Las Colinas on Thursday, an Irving Fire Department official said.
The call came in about 4:40 p.m., and it took firefighters about two hours to bring the blaze under control, said Mike Evitts, Irving assistant fire chief. The two people who occupied the home escaped unhurt, he said.
The fire appears to have started in the attic, where a man was working, but there is no indication that he did anything to start the fire, Evitts said. The worker suffered minor injuries escaping and was treated by paramedics at the scene, firefighters said.
Most of the roof collapsed during the fire, Evitts said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
