La Estrella En Casa, the Star-Telegram's Spanish-language edition, will distribute 100,000 voter registration cards through the weekend as part of a nationwide campaign to mobilize Latino voters.
The effort was announced at a news conference Thursday morning in Dallas.
A group of media and Latino organizations are part of what they call an historic effort to distribute almost 1 million voter registration cards across the nation.
The cards are in Spanish and will be distributed nationwide in Spanish-language newspapers.
Locally, the cards will be available within La Estrella's Dallas and Fort Worth editions throughout the weekend.
Registration applications must be postmarked or received in the office of the voter registrar by Monday, Oct. 6 in order to be eligibile to vote in the Nov. 4 general election, reports the Texas Secretary of State's office on it's Web site.
