Traffic on Haltom Road in Haltom City will be challenging for about two months as the city's public works department replaces a water main along the road between Stanley Keller Road and Glenview Drive.
North and south lanes of Haltom Road were closed Friday while utility workers started the project, said Jason Denne, a dispatcher for public works.
After Friday, however, only the south lane is expected to be closed along the quarter-mile stretch of Haltom Road, Denne said.
Haltom Road is used a lot, Denne said, by motorists who don't want to drive on North Beach Street or U.S. 377, also known as the Old Denton Highway.
But those roads are going to be the best options to take while the water main is being replaced, Denne said.
