U.S. 287 is closed between the East Rosedale Street and South Riverside Drive exits until Monday morning.
The freeway, also known as the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway, will remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday as the East Vickery Boulevard bridge is demolished.
The bridge was shut down earlier this month and will be out of service for at least 10 months. The bridge will be replaced and sidewalks added as part of a $2.89 million project.
In the future, drivers will have to use the crossovers at Rosedale Street or Riverside Drive.
Northbound traffic is being detoured to the frontage road at the Rosedale Street exit, while southbound traffic must exit at Riverside Drive to the frontage road, according to Traffic.com.
