DENTON COUNTY – A ranch hand was killed late Sunday after a pickup ran over him at a party in a field near Pilot Point, authorities said Monday.
Authorities arrested a 23-year-old Valley View man a few hours after the incident.
The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office has not released the name of the victim
The incident was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. in a field near Pilot Point which is about 12 miles northeast of Denton.

Witnesses told authorities that several people were at the scene having a party when a fight broke out between the victim and another man.
At some point, the 32-year-old victim was standing in the field when he was run over by an extended-cab pickup, authorities said.
The pickup drove away after hitting the victim, authorities said.
Authorities arrested the driver of the pickup in Cooke County about midnight.
