IRVING -- A brother of a woman who was found dead Friday evening was in custody Monday on suspicion that he fatally stabbed her after the two got into a violent confrontation, police said.
Police identified the brother as Joshua Williams, 19, of Irving, who was in the Irving Jail with bail set at $752,500.
Investigators believe that Sara Williams, 21, confronted her brother over the theft of items from the family home and was stabbed during the confrontation.
The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of Britain Road.
Joshua Williams had called police and reported that he had gone inside the family home and found his sister dead, according to police reports.
While the scene was secured by police, Joshua Williams is accused of assaulting one of the officers when Williams attempted to re-enter the home.
Authorities discovered evidence and information at the scene that led to Joshua Williams’ arrest, police said.
Joshua Williams is expected to be charged with murder and the assault on a public servant, police said.
