CARROLLTON — A police officer shot and killed an armed man who pointed a gun at officers as he exited a house Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
The man had barricaded himself in the house, police said.
The man, who was not identified, was shot once, according to a Carrollton police news release. Police had not released his identity.
Police responded to a disturbance call about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 2300 block of York Court.

Upon arrival, police were told that a man was inside the house with firearms.
As tactical officers and police negotiators arrived on the scene, the man exited the house and pointed a gun at officers, police said.
The man was shot by an officer and taken to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.
The officer, who police did not identify, was placed on leave.
