Police found an improvised explosive device during a search of a Burleson home Friday, along with numerous guns and more than 200 grams of methamphetamine.
The search by Johnson County authorities and Burleson police, which was part of a covert drug-trafficking investigation, also led to three arrests out of the five adults and six children who were home during the search, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.
The homeowner, James Jones, 44, was charged with possession of a controlled substance more than 200 grams. Brandy Nicole Batson, 30, charged with possession of 1 to 4 grams of a controlled substance and Kevin Wayne Thibodaux, 48, was arrested on Liberty County warrants on charges of theft, false identification and a parole violation.
Jones posted a $150,000 bond, Batson posted a $10,000 bond and Thibodaux is being held at the Johnson County Corrections Center.
The children were placed by Child Protective Services.
