A recent trip to Disney World with our 5 and 8-year-old made me realize that the colorful characters and infections song of the "It's a Small World" ride is a timeless experience that all ages enjoy.

That's why I was excited to see that Nordstrom teamed with Disney to create the "It's a Small World" children's collection to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the classic amusement ride that reminds us that although we are a world apart we are all connected. The first installment of this limited-edition collection is available online and at Nordstrom stores. There are many cute items but two stood out because you can give back to great causes by purchasing them.

Every 'FEED Our Small World' item purchased through Nordstrom will help UNICEF provide vitamin A packets to children in need. Look to the number printed on your FEED item to see how many children your purchase helps for a year. And for every pair of TOMS shoes purchased, TOMS will donate a new pair of shoes to children who might otherwise go without.

Disney, It's a Small World by FEED 'Feed Your Small World' Tee (Toddler), $29 ($3 will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF)

Disney, It’s a Small World by FEED 'Feed Our Small World' Tote, $49 ($10 will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF)
Dimensions: 13"W x 14"H x 4"D; Strap drop: 10"; Shoulder strap drop: 18".

Disney, It's a Small World by TOMS 'Classic' Slip-On (Baby, Walker & Toddler), $28.95

One for One and a day without shoes

For every pair of shoes you purchase from Toms they will donate a new pair of shoes to children who might otherwise go without. Another way to raise awareness for the millions of children who go shoeless each day is to participate in the One Day Without Shoes movement on April 5, 2011.
