1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Where: Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie
Price: $16 - $35

What it's about: This live action play brings the beloved Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat to life. Along with a colorful cast of characters, George embarks on a madcap adventure to help a chef friend win the Golden Meatball Contest in Rome.
Why parents will like it: Performers put on a good song and dance routine, although the fake Italian accents grew a bit old. George's attempts to cheer up a friend present an uplifting and inspirational lesson. (Of course, with Curious George, it's always necessary to explain why the mischievous monkey's antics should not be imitated at home.)
Why kids will like it: Vibrant costumes, along with energetic singing and dancing, will keep the little ones entertained. This play is more suited to older kids (4 and up), as the winding plot is a bit hard to follow.
Good to know: Be prepared to fork over $15 cash for parking. And don't come hungry — the only concession available was overpriced cotton candy.
Hit or miss: Hit for the kids. Parents may find it a bit lackluster.
