IRVING — A man accused of fatally shooting an Irving man Sunday night over a woman was arrested Monday night in Dallas, police said.

Gerardo Reyna, 35, of Dallas was taken into custody in the 8200 block of R. L. Thornton Freeway, police said.

He was taken to the Irving City Jail, where he remained Tuesday on suspicion of murder.

Reyna is accused of shooting 22-year-old Carlos Membreno after a brief confrontation Sunday night in the 1300 block of Ross Drive. Investigators believe Reyna became angry when he saw Membreno with his former girlfriend.

The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

After the shooting, Reyna fled the scene, police said.
