Residential Utility Bills Would Increase $30

The crime control board may vote to tax Colleyville residents on gas, electric and telephone service, but first officials want to get more information and hear from the public.

A vote on the proposed half-cent local sales tax on residential utility bills was scheduled last week, but the Crime Control and Prevention District Board, made up of Colleyville's City Council, delayed action. Some directors seemed reluctant to support the measure.Read more

Grapevine-Colleyville Board Told New Taxes, Bonds Needed

If school trustees follow an advisory committee's recommendations, Colleyville and Grapevine voters will cast ballots in November on two school-related pocketbook issues.

The committee advised the board to place both a $125.9 million bond package and a 13-cent tax rate hike on one ballot. Committee members also recommended moving the date of the bond election from its original May date to the fall to better develop the package for votersRead more

All but one local elected officials who are facing the end of their current terms filed for re-election Monday, the first day to register for a spot on the May 8 ballot.
