The folks at National Geographic have explored the world, and now they’re exploring the world of coffee.

The National Geographic Society has partnered with Cafe Bom Dia, a fourth-generation family-owned coffee company based in Brazil, on a line of specialty-grade coffees called Terra Firma.

Terra Firma single-origin light, medium and dark roasts are roasted at a carbon-neutral facility, they’re fair-trade certified, and their net proceeds will support "vital exploration, conservation, research and education programs," press materials say. They’ve been scored as "outstanding" by the Specialty Coffee Association of America.

The coffees are sold as whole bean or pre-ground. For more information or online ordering, visit www.natgeoterrafirmacoffee.com; they also can be purchased from Amazon.com. Suggested retail price is $10.99 for a 12-ounce bag.
