Soon comes the season for party foods. You’ll be glad to have an easy one in your repertoire, particularly one that pleases all ages and is waistline-friendly. This reduced-fat version of a favorite warm dip comes from McCormick, the seasonings outfit that is promoting a more healthful Mediterranean-inspired diet. This recipe contains only 95 calories per serving, which is a welcome change from the usual holiday party fare.Mediterranean spiced artichoke bakeServes 81 teaspoon garlic powder1 teaspoon oregano leaves 1/2 teaspoon rosemary leaves, finely crushed 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves, crushed1 (8-ounce) package frozen artichoke hearts, thawed, coarsely chopped1 (3-ounce) package Neufchâtel cheese, softened 1/3 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese2 tablespoons sliced green onion2 tablespoons chopped tomato1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix garlic powder, oregano, rosemary and thyme in a small bowl. Set aside. 3. Place artichoke hearts in a food processor. Cover and process until finely chopped. Add Neufchâtel cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan and herb mixture. Process until mixed well. 4. Spread evenly in a 9-inch pie plate or small casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until mixture is heated through and edges are golden-brown. 5. Sprinkle with green onion and tomato, if desired.
