Just in time for the holiday season, Whataburger has teamed up with another iconic Texas brand to bring fans of the Flying W a new way to consume their favorite beverage.
The San Antonio-based fast food chain and Austin-based YETI have collaborated to create a stainless steel version of Whataburger’s white and orange-striped drink cups. The 30-ounce, insulated tumbler costs $45.99 and is now available for purchase on the Whataburger website.
If the announcement of a Whataburger-themed Yeti cup has you feeling a little bit of deja vu, it’s for good reason. Last October, Whataburger launched its own line of stainless steel tumblers made to resemble Whataburger drinking cups. Despite the warm reception from Whataburger devotees, the fast food chain says the main feedback from customers was that they wished the tumblers would have been Yeti-branded.
Never miss a local story.
“When we launched our stainless-steel tumblers last year, we saw fans snapping photos of themselves with their tumblers all over the world,” said Whataburger vice president of retail Mike Sobel. “We’re excited to share these new YETI tumblers so our fans can travel with both their favorite high-quality brands. We can’t wait to see where our fans will go next, but we’ll always have a hot meal and a cold drink waiting for them here in Whataburger country.”
This isn’t the first time Whataburger has teamed up with a brand from the Lone Star State. Last month, the fast food chain announced its collaboration with Kerrville-based jewelry designer James Avery on a Whataburger-themed charm. The charm is still available for purchase in the Whatastore and costs $60.
