Sunset Yoga at WestBend
When: Last Saturday of the month through October
Where: Top level of the WestBend Parking Garage
The University Drive mixed-use development is more than just one of the most Instagrammable destinations in Fort Worth. It’s also the site of Sunset Yoga, a new free fitness class held the last Saturday of every month on the top level of the WestBend parking garage. Registration for each session begins at 6:30 p.m. inside CorePower Yoga Studio, followed by class at 7:15 p.m.
Wine Down Wednesday at The Grove
When: Every Wednesday at 6 p.m. through November
Where: The Grove at Waterside
How do you make an exercise class more appealing? By promising discounted wine as a post-class reward. Waterside’s weekly Wine Day Wednesday is a free hourlong yoga session led by Erin Tracy from Indigo Yoga that offers participants $1 off wine at nearby Whole Foods Market Bar and Taco Diner.
Zumba in Sundance Square Plaza
When: Every other Saturday at 8:30 a.m. through Sept. 23
Where: Sundance Square Plaza, 201 Main St., Fort Worth.
Channel your inner Taylor Swift and shake it off at one of Sundance Square Plaza’s free, hourlong Zumba classes. Led by instructors from the Amon G. Carter Jr. Downtown YMCA, the Latin-inspired dance fitness class combines aerobic choreography with hip-shaking tunes for an experience that is more like a fun dance party than a boring workout.
Camp Gladiator at Athleta
When: Every Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Where: Athleta in University Park Village (1612 S. University Drive, Fort Worth)
Athleta, one of our favorite purveyors of athleisure wear, offers several free in-store fitness classes at its location in Fort Worth’s University Park Village. For a workout guaranteed to get your heart pumping and your blood flowing, try the 60-minute Camp Gladiator led by coach Elizabeth Wilson.
Stroller Strides at The Trailhead at Clearfork
When: Every Saturday
Where: The Trailhead at Clearfork (4801 Edwards Ranch Road, Fort Worth)
When you’re on mommy (or daddy) duty, finding time to sneak in a quick workout can be hard. Stroller Strides, a free 60-minute stroller-based workout held every weekend at The Trailhead at Clearfork, makes exercising with baby in tow easy by incorporating power walking, strength training, toning, songs and activities.
Karate Dynamics at Viridian
When: Every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Where: Outlook Park at Viridian (1210 Viridian Park Lane, Arlington)
Learn the fundamentals of karate while getting fit at the free Karate Dynamics class inside Arlington’s Viridian master-planned community. The class, which is open to non-residents, is led by Bill Mueller, an Okinawan certified 8th degree black belt with over 40 years of karate experience.
Barre with Barre Code at Klyde Warren Park
When: Select Sundays from 9 to 10 a.m.

For those specifically wanting to build muscle stamina and endurance, we suggest trying one of the park’s popular Barre with Barre Code classes. The hourlong class uses isometric holds and heavy repetition to lengthen, strengthen and engage the core.
