During the past month or so, word has been trickling out about the performers at the two-day ACM Party for a Cause Festival this month at Globe Life Park in Arlington. On Thursday, the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions announced the full lineup.
The fest, which will take place April 17-18 as part of the festivities leading up to the 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 19 at AT&T Stadium, will feature nearly three dozen acts, paired or grouped together in collaborative duos as “ACM Presents: Superstar Duets” during the evening portion of the festival. Just a few of the pairings we’re most excited to hear: Miranda Lambert and Patty Loveless; Brooks & Dunn amd Reba; Dwight Yoakam and Sam Hunt.
Some acts, such as Kenny Chesney, are currently scheduled to go solo.
The ones that make us the most curious: Alabama with Denton’s Eli Young Band; Reba McEntire with Brooks & Dunn; Dwight Yoakam with Sam Hunt; Eric Church with Marty Stuart (that should be a guitar throwdown); Keith Urban with John Anderson; and Miranda Lambert with Patty Loveless.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage inside Globe Life Park. A two-hour special including performances from the event will air Friday, May 15 on CBS (KTVT/Channel 11).
