• Briefs: Brother held in woman's fatal stabbing

  IRVING — A brother of a woman who was found dead Friday evening was in custody Monday on suspicion that he fatally stabbed her after the two got into a confrontation, police said. Joshua Williams, 19, of Irving was in the Irving Jail with bail set at $752,500. Investigators believe that Sara Williams, 21, confronted her brother over the theft of items from the family home and was stabbed. The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of Britain Road. Joshua Williams had called police and reported that he had gone into the family home and found his sister dead, according to police reports. Joshua Williams is accused of assaulting an officer when Williams tried to re-enter the home while the scene was secured by police. He was arrested at the scene Friday evening. Authorities discovered evidence and information at the scene that led to Williams as a suspect in the slaying, police said. He is expected to be charged with murder and assault on a public servant, police said.
