SOUTHLAKE -- Her plan went to pot.
A 30-year-old Sanger woman was arrested April 24 on suspicion of leaving her Chihuahua with no water in a GMC Tahoe with the windows rolled up.
But there was marijuana too, police said.
Police had been called about a dog in the Tahoe in the 2900 block of Southlake Boulevard. The high temperature that day was 74 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, and a resident reported that the dog had been in the SUV for some time.
After officers arrived, they waited 45 minutes for the Sanger woman to show up.
Her defense: She told officers that she had left a water bottle and a dish with water in the vehicle.
Doggone it, police didn't find those items -- but there was some pot.
