What started out as a peaceful youth soccer match Sunday afternoon in Hurst ended with two women assaulted after the game, police said Monday.
Hurst police said the victims -- a 20-year-old Lake Dallas woman and a 46-year-old Hickory Creek woman -- were elbowed, but they were not seriously injured.It was the second reported incident of violent behavior by adults in as many weeks at sporting events in Northeast Tarrant County. On Nov. 1, an adult soccer player kicked a referee after being penalized and then ran into some nearby woods in Grapevine, Grapevine police said Monday."We just had parents not acting responsible," Hurst police Sgt. Craig Teague said Monday. "It happened after a heated game."The Hurst incident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hurst Community Park at Pipeline and Precinct Line Road. Game officials called Hurst police after parents got into a heated argument.A 27-year-old North Richland Hills man is accused of walking through the group of arguing adults, striking the women with his elbows, according to Hurst police reports.When Hurst police arrived, officers located the North Richland Hills man and issued him two citations for simple assault, Teague said.In Grapevine, police continued Monday to search for the adult soccer player accused of kicking a referee.The incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at a soccer field at Meadowmere Park near Grapevine Lake.A referee called a penalty on an adult soccer player who turned around and kicked the official, according to Grapevine police reports. The player then fled into some nearby trees, Grapevine police said Monday."We’re still trying to track him down," Grapevine police Sgt.
