ARLINGTON — Two men accused of setting fire in August to the bleachers at Martin High School and to a temporary building at Young Junior High School were in the Tarrant County Jail on Wednesday night.

Tyler Wray Teague, 19, and Jordan Eric Thames, 21, were arrested last month by Arlington fire marshals.

The men were identified through witnesses, video surveillance and Crime Stoppers tips, Deputy Fire Marshal Darin Niederhaus said.

The men face charges of arson/damage of a habitation, arson and criminal mischief.

Teague also faces a charge of aggravated kidnapping. Police accuse him of holding an acquaintance against his will in an unrelated incident.

Teague’s bail is set at $85,000. Thames’ is $30,000.

On Aug. 30, fire destroyed about a third of the bleachers at the Martin field, where the freshman and junior-varsity football teams play. The school is at 4501 W. Pleasant Ridge Road. The blaze was reported at 2:33 a.m.

Shortly afterward, a trash bin fire was reported in the 4300 block of Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard.

The blaze at Young Junior High in the 3200 block of Woodside Drive was reported at 3:41 a.m. The school is a few blocks from Martin.

Later that morning, witnesses told fire officials that they saw at least two people running from the bleachers at Martin.

No injuries were reported.

Teague attended Young and Martin and graduated in 2008, according to district records. Thames also attended school in Arlington at some point, but information wasn’t available about which school or whether he graduated.
