GHS Students Fill in Where Families Leave Off

A group of Grapevine High School students is connecting with the older generation, and it's an effort that has been picking up momentum since Lea Coligado began volunteering at a local retirement living facility last summer. "I started volunteering last summer at South Colleyvine Ranch," said Lea, a GHS sophomore, who said she found the seniors "have very interesting lives and were very appreciative" of the volunteer work.

By July, Lea knew she wanted to make the effort more permanent, and she and five other students formed an organization called Club Generations Connect.Read more

Residential Utility Bills Would Increase $30

The crime control board may vote to tax Colleyville residents on gas, electric and telephone service, but first officials want to get more information and hear from the public.

A vote on the proposed half-cent local sales tax on residential utility bills was scheduled last week, but the Crime Control and Prevention District Board, made up of Colleyville's City Council, delayed action. Some directors seemed reluctant to support the measure.Read more

Grapevine-Colleyville Board Told New Taxes, Bonds Needed
