No. 6 TCU at San Diego State 3 p.m. today, Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego

TV: Versus

Radio: ESPN/103.3 FM; KTCU/88.7 FM

Records: TCU 8-0, 4-0 Mountain West; San Diego State 4-4, 2-2

Scouting report: The Aztecs are riding a two-game winning streak for the first time since 2007. Sophomore Ryan Lindley threw a combined nine touchdowns in a 42-28 win at Colorado State and 23-20 victory at home against New Mexico.

DeMarco Sampson has stepped up in the absence of leading receiver Vincent Brown, who was injured three weeks ago and probably out the rest of the season. Sampson has five touchdown catches in the last two games.

The Frog factor: TCU has the nation’s No. 1 defense (235.8 yards allowed per game), including the sixth-best pass defense (146.4), and has held teams to 11.1 points per game, third best nationally. The offense is averaging 447 yards per game, the most since Gary Patterson has been head coach. The Frogs are on pace to break the total offense record set in 2003.
