Game times to be announced at a later date.Blood DriveThe city of Burleson and Carter Bloodcare will be hosting a community blood drive on Monday, July 13. Carter’s mobile unit will be parked in the Burleson City Hall parking lot, 141 W. Mark your calendar to attend the 11th annual Fourth of July Independence Day celebration at 7:30 p.m. Food is available at the concession stand. The rest of the festivities, as well as parking, are free. The gates will open at 5 p.m. "Men in Black" will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. and perform a tribute to American icons Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison. Immediately following the concert, there will be a 20-minute fireworks extravaganza choreographed to patriotic music.Chairs are allowed at the sports complex, but shade structures are not. Pets on leashes are also allowed, but alcohol and glass bottles are not. The city has a mixed beverage permit for the restaurant/grill at Hidden Creek Golf Course, and it is illegal to take any alcoholic beverage on the premises of a permit holder. Celebrants can bring coolers filled with food and soft drinks, but the coolers will be checked for violations. Cigarette smoking is permitted in designated areas.Burleson Police are coordinating routing traffic in and out of the fireworks show.The sports complex and golf course are located at I-35W and Hidden Creek Parkway (295 E. Hidden Creek Parkway). For more information about the event, call the city of Burleson Parks and Recreation department at 817-295-8168.Disney’s Beauty and the BeastThe Greater Cleburne Carnegie Players production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast continues at the Don Smith Performing Arts Center on the campus of Cleburne High School through July 5. Friday performance is at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, matinees are at 2:30 p.m. *There will be no evening production on Saturday, July 4th.
