The Burleson Public Library has a major incentive for the Summer Reading Club this year – free Texas Ranger baseball tickets.

Each Summer Reading Club participant, 18 years of age or younger, who has read at least 25 hours or listened to at least 100 books will receive one free ticket good for the July 19 Texas Rangers game. The Sunday game against the Minnesota Twins starts at 7:05 p.m.

Each Summer Reading Club member will parade around the field at The Ballpark in Arlington before the game. Family members and friends may buy additional tickets at a discounted price but voucher requests must be made before Friday, July 17.

Participation in the Summer Reading Club is by age group. Registration started June 5 and continues through July 10.

Children, 2-5 years old, are in the "Read To Me" group. Their goal is to have 20 book titles read to them. The next group, 5-7 years old or "Beginning Readers," strives to read 20 titles or read for five hours. The "Independent Readers (8-11 years old) aim to read for at least five hours. A small prize will be awarded for every five hours or 20 titles read by participants.

All Summer Reading Club participants will receive a reading club certificate and a bookmark.
