The Eumathian Club’s May meeting was held at the home of Marzie Bartee, which featured the installation of officers for 2009 – 2010. Joyce Cathy, retired Burleson teacher, conducted the installation of officers using the colors of the rainbow to identify each officer’s duties and obligations to club members.
President Wava McCullough was symbolized with the color red for courage to lead club members and orange signified shared leadership for First Vice President Dorothy Nash also in charge of programs. Yellow was the color chosen for Doris Jo Haas as Second Vice President and also sunshine chairwoman and corresponding secretary. Purple was selected for Pat Dexheimer as Third Vice President, historian, and in charge of publicity. Mary Norris as Recording Secretary was symbolized as blue for keeping accurate lists of membership, minutes, and as Federation Counselor. Marzie Bartee as Treasurer was portrayed by the color green for financial accounting, budget, and the disbursement of funds. Cathy stated, "The individual colors together form a rainbow just as the officers join together for the united good of the Eumathian Club."Cathy was presented an honorarium in her name for the Burleson Public Library and everyone shared a covered dish luncheon at the close of the meeting.
