Engines:Three engines are available, including a 3.7-liter V-6. Standard on the two-wheel-drive regular and Quad Cab models, this engine is rated at 210 horsepower and 235 foot-pounds of torque.

Highlights: The light-duty Ram 1500 pickup has been completely redesigned for 2009, and comes with a list of cool new features, including the Ram Box, which incorporates locking cargo compartments into each side of the pickup box.
The package: Pontiac's replacement for the long-running Grand Prix debuted this year.
Engines:* The base model is powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 that turns out 256 horsepower and 250 foot-pounds of torque. The midlevel model is the GT, bearing a 6.0-liter V-8 rated at 361 horsepower and 391 foot-pounds of torque. The GXP comes with a 402-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed manual gearbox.

Highlights: General Motors Corp. rolled out its completely redesigned full-size pickups last year. This year, a gasoline-electric hybrid joins the new lineup.
Engine:The hybrid has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The base engine is the Ecotec 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder, has 169 horsepower.
The package: Ford's redesigned F-150 arrived for 2009, a complete remake of the top-selling pickup.
Engine: 4.6- and 5.4-liter V-8, both connected to a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The 4.6-liter has more horsepower but the same fuel economy as the previous model
Highlights: It has great new features including a retractable metal step on each side of the truck that allow someone to step up easily for loading and unloading. It opens and retracts with a push of the foot. Also new is the flat load floor in the back seat of the extended-cab model, created by folding up the seat.
The package: The Flex is Ford’s all-new seven-passenger crossover.
Engines: Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated at 262 horsepower and 248 foot-pounds of torque. This engine already is used in the Edge and several other Ford products.
EPA fuel economy: 17 mpg city/24 highway for the front-drive model; the all-wheel-drive version is 16 city/22 highway.
Base price range: * Prices range from $28,295 (plus $700 freight) for the base front-drive SE model to $36,555 for the top-of-the-line Limited all-wheel-drive version.
The package: The Sportage is the second generation of Kia's first U.S. sport utility, which was introduced in the U.S. market in 1995.
Engines: 140-horsepower four-cylinder with manual transimission or 2.7-liter V-6 engine, rated at 173 horsepower and 178 foot-pounds of torque.
EPA fuel economy: 20 city/25 highway for base four-cylinder models, and 18/23 for the V-6
Base price range: two-wheel-drive 5-speed Sportage LX starts at about $16,000, all-wheel-drive models with four-cylinder engine start at $18,000, and V-6 models begin at $19,000.
The package: The Maxima is offered in two versions, the base 3.5 S model and the uplevel 3.5 SV. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels are standard, but 19-inch are optional.
