NFL commentator Terry Bradshaw sues clothing company

FORT WORTH -- Football commentator and former star quarterback Terry Bradshaw filed suit Friday in a Tarrant County court against a California clothing company, accusing the company's owner of using Bradshaw to promote a custom clothing business.

Bradshaw's suit also accuses the company, RWC Fashion Apparel of Palm Desert, Calif., of overcharging Bradshaw $509,000 for custom clothing and other associated fees.

Bradshaw, a four-time Super Bowl winner and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has a residence in Westlake.

His suit seeks a temporary restraining order forbidding RWC Fashion Apparel from continuing to use his image and seeks other damages, court costs and attorney's fees.

The company's owner, Randy Willard, said Friday that he wasn't aware of the suit but that he had an attorney already handling "some issues" he is having with Bradshaw.

According to the suit, a letter was sent to the company in June "demanding that defendants cease and desist" from using Bradshaw's name and image.

And while at least one image has since been taken down from the company's Web site, rwfashion.com, according to the suit, others remained. On Friday, the site included a video clip of Bradshaw appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno wearing clothing from Willard's company.

Bradshaw's Dallas attorney, Seth Horowitz, declined to comment on the case Friday.
