ARLINGTON -- Fire department investigators were still on the scene about 10:15 a.m. today of a "highly suspicious" fire at a strip mall in the 1500 block of East Abram Street, a battalion chief said.

The blaze, which started about 6:30 a.m., heavily damaged the office area of the So Fresh & So Clean clothing store. A hair salon also in the building was not damaged.

Arlington Battalion Chief Jeff Holloway said police responded to a burglary alarm call between 4:30 and 5 a.m. at the building. That combined with the fire’s pattern of burning contributed to investigators’ viewing it as suspicious, he said.

No dollar estimate on damages had been made.

Anyone with information about the fire can call the fire department at 817-459-5500.
