GRAND PRAIRIE -- The southbound lanes of Texas 161 and the westbound lanes of Interstate-30 were open for traffic at 4:50 p.m. after an accident that involved an 18-wheeler that turned over onto a guardrail, according to authorities.
The accident occurred at the off-ramp from westbound Interstate-30 headed to the Texas 161 southbound frontage road about 1 p.m., said Sgt. Eric Hansen, police spokesman.
The 18-wheeler was going southbound on the Texas 161 frontage road after exiting Interstate-30 and took the ramp too fast, then turned over on its right side, Hansen said.
Several large rolls of paper had to be unloaded so the tractor-trailer rig could be set upright after the accident, Hansen said. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No citations were issued, Hansen said.
